We ordered custom dining room furniture from Canadel, who work with La-Z-Boy in Kanata, Ontario. The custom choices for the styles and finishes is almost overwhelming, but our new furniture was delivered today and we are extremely pleased with it. We also got 20% off during a special promotion.

I have updated the review because the response from the store to our complaint was wonderful. Aisling looked into it for us and was able to arrange delivery the next Tuesday. Also, we have been treated very fairly as a result. Trevor has also been very helpful and we couldn't be happier with his service. If there hadn't been the delay in delivery, we would have given 5 stars.

My husband and I look rather young and are sometimes treated that way. We are building a house and stopped into this store for the first time recently. We were not greeted whatsoever for our entire time there and witnessed staff greeting customers that came in after us.

My wife and I were at a point in our lives that we wanted some quality furniture. We visited the showroom in Kanata and were greeted by Steve. We were not pressured into a purchase whatsoever. Steve was very helpful and answered many queries during our visit to the showroom and over numerous emails that day. We finally decided on a couch and love seat after Steve diligently educated us over the various options available to us. We are excited to receive delivery of our new furniture. It has been a long time since we have shopped for furniture and we were somewhat overwhelmed when we walked into your store. Peter met us when we were trying out the Lazy Boys at the front door. We told him what we were looking for, a Lazy Boy for my husband. One that was both comfortable and one that suited our present living room arrangement. We had one of our best experiences in a store today! We visited the Kanata La-Z-Boy for the first time to look for a sectional replacement. We were about to walk out of the door when Mitch came along. Without using any pressure tactics, Mitch took the time to understand our needs and presented options that would meet those needs. It was the first time ever that we made a big purchase without shopping around. We received excellent service and felt very good about our purchase. We would without a doubt return to the store for future purchases.

As first-time visitors to the Kanata store we were surprised to learn we had arrived on the day of a special sale on virtually everything in stock! Mitch is mentioned favourably in several other reviews from customers and you can add this one to the pile. He was very helpful, polite, well-informed, intuitive and obviously knew the product and everything about it. We went there to look and left with a couch and an easy chair! Many weeks ago, we tried to purchase a La-Z-Boy recliner in another city in Ontario. After the purchase, there were delivery issues which finally resulted us in canceling that order.A couple of weeks ago, since we still needed the furniture, we decided to try the Kanata Store on Campeau Drive. We went to the recliner section of the store and met a sales staff member Mitch. We were initially a bit apprehensive as we did not want a repeat of our previous experience from another city. Mitch was empathetic to our previous experience. Throughout the process, Mitch's attitude was always positive. His mindset was "How do I make this sale happen?"Mitch had to make a few trips to the manager during the negotiations. However, his continued positive attitude resulted in us purchasing two La-Z-Boy recliners instead of one. The day after receiving the first chair, Mitch telephoned to ensure everything had gone smoothly. This type of followup is very rare in any business.I have owned La-Z-Boy furniture for over 40 years. It is the best quality with the most comfort I have been able to find. Additionally, if La-Z-Boy continues employing stellar staff members like Mitch, they will remain successful for many years into the future.Doug Wilson

First dropped in to see what they had! and I found the chair and a half my wife has been looking for for years! Mitch helped me that day and every other times we dropped in afterwards. Mitch took care of our family, wife and 2 kids overtime we visited to make sure we would like the living room set, couch, chair and a half and accent chair + ottoman. Mitch came to do an in home deco assessment with Yvette. They were awesome and that visit was free. They drew to scale our room and Yvette sent us 2 different layouts for our room with suggestions for accents to deploy over time as budget becomes available. Very nice touch by La-Z-Boy to offer this service. We went back into the store where Yvette and Mitch were ready to show my wife and I the choices of accents, painting, lamps and area rugs they were suggesting. Complete service!Mitch went over and above any service I have ever had in a furniture store. I felt I was shopping local! I rarely spend any time writing a review as more often than not, I would have to write negative reviews. I took the time to write this one as it was positive.

We purchased a couch and loveseat on Saturday at Lazboy. Steve from Kanata answered all of our questions and gave us time to discuss. Initially I was thinking a sectional but then asked for his opinion which he agreed that we would have more functionality as well as keeping the current layout. We had spent time before hand exploring the website and making some primary choices. Mitch, our salesman, greeted us warmly and was immediately able to point out the various options we had in mind, answer the questions we had concerning size, fabrics, and styles. We appreciated his pointing out to us details about the chairs and to find additional other samples on the floor of styles we had not considered. We bought a $2800 recliner from Tim and did so because of his ability to listen to what we were looking for and to show us what was suitable for our needs. He was a breath of fresh air compared to what we encountered at the competition.The chair had to be built and Tim told us it would take 6-8 weeks. It was ready in 6 weeks and we received a call concerning scheduling a delivery, as we had paid an additional $99 plus tax for delivery. We do not recall being told at the time we purchased the chair that a 12 hour window (i.e. all day) was required for delivery and that the delivery staff only worked Monday to Friday. We are retired and it was a week before they could schedule a delivery for us so I have no idea what a person still working does other than take a day off work to accommodate Lazy Boy's less than adequate delivery system. We got it delivered privately within 2 days for less money and with a 2 hour window.This is a follow up following the owner's response;I may be mistaken about the Monday to Friday delivery days as, when I spoke to the scheduling girl on Wednesday evening, she advised me that the earliest possible date for delivery was the following Tuesday. We were not happy it was going to take that long to get a chair we had waited so long for but, when I told her we were available after lunch on the Tuesday she told me that you required a 12 hour window. It is unfortunate that your scheduling staff apparently are not better informed and, as I live within 5 kilometers of your store, I am surprised that we do not qualify for your daily delivery. Perhaps this is somehting else your scheduling staff need to be informed about?This is a further follow up to my review and it relates to our unsuccessful attempts to get warranty service on our chair. I have reduced the rating as deserved.We bought an upgraded foam seat on our $3000 recliner. We were away through February & March but when we got home it was apparent that the 'firm' foam was failing. I realize that the end of March was Covid 19 slow down time but I left repeated voice mail messages at the store but never got a call back. I then called the La-Z-Boy US call center on April 15th and had them open a Case #. I finally got a call back from the Ottawa store in mid May advising me that they were ordering the foam required to repair the chair. As I had heard nothing further by June 17th, I again called the Ottawa store. No one answers the phones anymore (?) so I left a message asking that a manager call me back. This morning (June 18th) I missed a call which happened to be the Ottawa La-Z-Boy repair service. They left a message stating that the foam had arrived yesterday (coincidence???) and requesting that I call back to extension 1233 to schedule a service appointment. I happily called back only to sadly discover that their phone system does not allow you to dial an extension! Too high tech perhaps?

My furniture was delivered early this morning by two very professional and polite movers. Once I get used to the new look, I will love it even more. Beautiful and very comfortable swivel chairs look perfect! The only thing that bothers me is that I should have requested two rectangular cushions for the sofa. My experience with Sandra Elnounou, was a pleasant one and she was so helpful in making this happen for me. I recommend her highly. I will, however follow up on an extra cushion to balance out the sofa.

Staff were very aggressive. After asking to be left to browse a little, the staff member returned 2 minutes later and ask why I wasn't looking at sofa's if that's what I came in for. Left after realizing that we were not allowed to browse. Bought a sofa from Dufresne instead that day. Thank you. Wouldn't have went there without the push from the over aggressive sales people.

I would like to thank Aisling who got in touch and Chris the, store manager who reached out instead of leaving it to the customer service . We came up with the solution, just hope it will not take long before we receive replacement. If this sectional last even third of the time we have recliner from the LAZBOY we would be happy. The recliner is at least 16 years old and still in good condition.This review is for the service from the upper management, hopefully I will be able to write the similar one for the sectional quality once the issue is resolved.Thank you

I purchased a stationary sofa from you in 2018. Within a few weeks of receiving it the seat cushions were compressing badly. It was very uncomfortable, not at all what I expected. Contacted customer support, they sent someone out and agreed to replace with thicker foam. Didn’t help at all, same problem. Was told by store manager that nothing more could be done for me. I guess customer satisfaction means nothing to you. A year and a bit later and I am selling it and buying something I can actually sit on. Very dissatisfied.

Pictures of a $1300 recliner after 3 years. Very bad quality. When you call warranty they say that the sides and folds are vinyl not leather!!! Surprise why do you sell it as a 100%leather recliner then. They don’t tell you everything upon selling you this low quality furniture for a high price.

My wife and I had a great experience this past weekend buying a large sectional from La-Z-Boy on Hunt Club. Vickie was awesome and very accomodating. She made us feel valued as customers. With the knowledge and confidence she has in La-Z-Boy products, she was able to find the perfect furniture for us. Both Vickie and Dea helped my wife and I develop a fabric/colour match for the couch and pillows that fit our style exactly. We came with pictures, a piece of flooring, and dimensions of the room. They took everything into consideration and even created a floor plan incorperating the size of the new sectional in our room...to scale...so much so that Dea even had measurements required for our coffee/side tables. Very excited for the delivery so we can get our room completed in comfort and style!

We came in to look for a swival, rocking recliner, we were served by Tim would gave us lots of time to look around, leave go and look at other stores and then come back. We ended up with two chairs and couldn't be more pleased with the price, quality and service. Our chairs are a lovely grey mix and people love the colour and quality, we love the comfort.

Wasted a lot of money on a Lazyboy power recliner, bought the extended warranty too. A few months out of warranty the foot rest stopped working and even though the mechanism is lifetime - the cost to repair just kept climbing to the point where I can buy a used one cheaper than repairing this one. I really thought Lazyboy's were meant to last.

Went in today looking for a lamp. I've been looking for a particular style for a while now and was pleasantly surprised when I saw it a La-Z-Boy. I received excellent service from the moment I walked in. The employees greeted me warmly and I felt no pressure while I shopped. I will definitely be going back for future purchases!

I drove to your Hunt Club store today to buy a new recliner, but was very surprised to see the store is now an Upper Room store. I came home and searched on the web, but the Hunt Club store is still there ??? WhAt gives?

I purchased a loveseat and sofa 8 years ago for over $5000.00. I was told by the salesperson that the hardware was guaranteed for the life of the product. When I had a service man in he said that the mechanism was broken so I had to call lazyboy with my model #. No problem until I was told that Lazy Boy had changed their policy and now charges for the shipping, LOL I am a shipper I deal with Purolator FedEx and Canada post there is no way that this item cost $39.95 plus tax to ship, I can tell you that we are paying for the part, also my sofa and loveseat still should be covered because I purchased them before they changed their policy. as well they did not even deliver it to the correct address.

Came to this store during moonlight madness a few months ago. I had seen a chair I liked on the website and Tim and the store manager went out of their way to help me find the material it was made of. I must have tried out about 20 recliners and Tim was so patient with me even though I was worse than Goldilocks (too hard, too soft, armrest is at the wrong height, my legs aren't comfortable, etc.) It didn't matter that I was only buying one item, they treated me like I was the most important customer. I finally found the perfect chair and every night I come home and sit in it and say "ahhhh". Thank you so much!

The saleswoman listen to what I wanted. She then provided me with what I wanted, with no mucking about. She accurately gauge what I was saying and provided me with exactly what I wanted, which I bought right there. She didn't try and bamboozle me in anyway. It was an excellent experience.

Bought a recliner from this store which began cracking, peeling, and falling apart within 2 years which is not covered by their expensive and 'extensive' 5 year anything goes warranty. I was given a store credit as an apology and am now waiting 9 weeks for a small side table which 'generally ships within a couple weeks but could take up to 8' I think this experience speaks for itself.

On our first visit, we found the chair we wanted, and Tim helped us with information on fabric options. He quickly emailed us photos of three possible choices so we could check how they would fit in our den. Tim was busy when we returned to place an order, but another agent helped us place the order, crediting Tim with the sale. A very positive experience.

First off nice to be greeted in a respectful manor. Staff members not pushy but like to have an idea of what your looking for and proceed on their own to find and suggest ideas. We changed our minds a few times on what we were looking for. Then we ended purchasing a great motorized rocker recliner which for myself it adjusted in all the right places, motorized head adjustment for that perfect angle of support and the lumbar adjustment, oh bet me up some more, that is great. Did I tell how much I like to rock, love it. I actually wore out my bigmans leather rocker recliner after about 10 years. My better halfs is still like new. All in all the folks were great to chat to, send them on a bit of a spin but they also did bring out certain qualities of each item we looked for - it was awesome. Dealt with Tim Young who was courteous, prompt with pricing and product availability with good product knowledge and who didn't offer any sales pressure on our first visit into the store by letting us know the product we were interested in was on sale for an additional couple of weeks.

My husband and I chose to visit the La-Z-Boy store in hopes of finding a new accent recliner for our living room. We were pleasantly surprised when we found a couch, matching chair and a reclining accent chair and all for a reasonable price. Our sales representative, Katie, was wonderful. Not only was she very patient with us (we were a little indecisive) but she was very informative and helped us choose a fabric that would accommodate our family. All of the staff were very friendly and I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for furniture.

This was first experience shopping at La-Z-Boy Nepean on West Hunt Club Road. I was very pleased that there were no pressure tactics to buy quickly. Sal Ibarra was very helpful. He explained the differences between the various options I was considering. He helped me to better understand the components of the different chairs. He also asked Magaly to provide me with very helpful assistance in my final decision based on her excellent knowledge of design. All in all, a very pleasurable first time experience!

We knew what we were looking for and, having purchased other recliners at LB we were confident to find it. Sandra was very helpful in giving us options. She even pulled out her measuring tape. As we requested, put a rush on our order. For a young lady she didn't talk a mile a minute like most of her generation seem to do. It made for a pleasant experience and we thank her.

I went to the store to find a chair for the living room. The salesman, Salvador (Sal) Ibarra, was an excellent sales person. He knew his products and was able to quickly answer any question we had. I looked at a Lazy Boy Chair which I liked. I asked for a few changes to be made and there was no problem. After a few days, I called Sal back and he gave me a better offer. I decided to buy it. Excellent service.

On January 21st 2017, we visited La-Z-Boy on Hunt Club Road. We had an idea of what we wanted and spotted a beautiful dual recliner soon after entering the store. A few minutes later, we were approached by Ed who was extremely professional and personable. He answered all of our questions, wasn't pushy, gave us time to walk around and see if there was anything else we liked better. Ultimately, we came back to the piece that initially caught our eye. He helped us set up delivery and asked if we had any questions. Once we were leaving the store, even though he was serving other customers, he took a brief second to say thank you and goodbye. We felt like we mattered and we were appreciated. You can't beat the quality and service at La-Z-Boy and now we know we can't beat Ed. We will ask for him by name the next time we are in looking for furniture and we intend on being repeat customers!

We walked into the Hunt Club location and found it very inviting. The furniture was well displayed with a big showroom. The salesperson didn't pounce on you the minute you walked through the door. We looked around for about 10 minutes before they approached us to see if we needed any help. I like that, it gives you time to see if there is anything you are truly interested in. We did find what we were looking for and got a very reasonable price. Thank you La-Z-Boy!

In home consultation was great, they provided neat solutions for the space we were looking to furnish. Beware, they will try to charge more than competitors for certain items, however if you point it out they will price match. The product quality is the obvious reason to go La-Z-Boy.

Bought this coffee table. Thought it was wood. Not sure what it is. It isn’t wood. I had asked. Great function, horrible finish. Tried to post a picture but this site won’t seem to let me. It is covered in mini scratches, no product I have tried will leave it looking clean or dusted.

EDIT: La-Z-Boy Gloucester has rectified the issue and are honoring their warranty. Very happy with the outcome! Thank You Aisling for escalating this. We purchased a red leather electric reclining sofa and 2 matching chairs in January 2016, along with the Extended Warranty. We were advised that the extended warranty would be very valuable if the leather were to get any fabric transfer, ink or other on it, as they would send a technician to try to remove and if it doesn't come out they would replace it. Within 2.5 years, the leather has turned purple on the seat/leg rest where denim has come in contact with it but according to La-Z-Boy customer service, denim will not stain leather??La-Z-boy sent a technician over to "assess the situation" (after several calls and even a visit to the store). He tried to remove the "blue staining" and was successful to remove some, but not all; told us it is denim transfer and it is a manufacture defect. When the "customer support" called to give us their tech's report, they said the tech told them NOTHING was wrong with it and it's not covered that the leather is supposed to be purple in places??? See photo AFTER it has been cleanedIn 3.5 years, since we purchased this new, we have already had to replace the seat foam on both sides (at our own expense as this is not under warranty). This is with regular use, and average weighted people. Bottom Line: Shop around - and if you do go with La-Z-Boy, DO NOT waste your money on La-Z-Boy's extended warranty. It's not worth the paper it's written on!

My name is Damien Ouellet (I am using my son's e-mail) My wife, Lise, and I were at the store on Cyrville Rd. in Ottawa this afternoon looking at what was available in the store for a sofa and rocker recliner. We were simply there looking around when salesman Greg Tomlinson came to us and asked if we were ever in this store before, and when we answered in the negative, he explained the layout of the store. After asking what we were looking for, which was sofa and recliner chair, Greg was very helpful in explaining how to choose the right one for both of us. When we left the store, after about one hour, we had put aside what we may purchase if after measuring it fits at our home. Overall Greg went over the top to help us in any way without being pushy and making us uncomfortable. All salesmen should be like him. In all our experience at La-Z-Boy was very good.

This was our first and will be our last experience with La-Z-Boy. We have NEVER been this frustrated with customer service. We were promised a 5-6 week delivery, we are now on week 10 of waiting. No one has had the courtesy to call us to offer solutions. We have been checking in weekly for updates that end up being vague at best to then find out that they only deliver to our area (which is only a 30 minute drive) on fridays. To then find out the next few fridays are already accounted for. Frustrating call after frustrating call. They always say they are leaving a message for the delivery team to see and that they would call us back. This has not yet happened, not even once. Keeping this review short but please save yourself the headache and purchase elsewhere. I hope that after all of this that our 5000$ couch does not disapoint.
