What is the European Collection?

Manufactured in Thailand, the European Collection at La-Z-Boy offers a selection of furniture products that are inspired by updated and modern European design. 

As previously mentioned, designs from this collection appeal to Canadian consumers favouring a simple design aesthetic with functional furniture that exudes an earthiness from its warm neutral palette and natural materials. 

With a smaller frame and cleaner lines, the European Collection style is highly acclaimed in Canada compared to more traditional furniture styles catered towards the United States. 

With this, the European Collection is offered by La-Z-Boy retailers in Eastern Ontario, Quebec, and Western Canada, including our local Ottawa and Kingston locations.

At La-Z-Boy Ottawa & Kingston, we order large product inventories from the European Collection to display on our showroom floor and these products are stored at our local warehouse.

In turn, the European Collection is more limited in customization options compared to the rest of our furniture selection at La-Z-Boy.

Products from the European Collection

At La-Z-Boy Ottawa & Kingston, we carry four reclining furniture models from The European Collection: the Harmony, Ethan, Norman, and Forum. 

The majority of the products offered from the European Collection are in our La-Z-Boy Signature Leather. 

These are 100% leather frames but two different types of leather are used in upholstering.  Top grain leather is used on all stress points or where your body would make contact with the surface.  The top grain leather is married to a matching split leather used on the back, sides, and arm posts.

The Ethan

The Ethan is curvy in all the right places! Contained by a rectangular frame and very popular classic key arms, the Ethan still provides rounded and lush cushioning to support the neck, back, and lumbar. A handle allows the Ethan to transition into its reclined position.

The Ethan is offered as a recliner, wall recliner, loveseat, sectional sofa, and a sofa with a fold-down centre table option.

The Norman

With a slim frame, tall back, curved metal arms, and unique use of stitching, the Norman is bound to stand out in any home. The long handle is hard to miss, allowing you to recline with ease.

The Norman is offered as a recliner, and rocker recliner.

The Sedona

The Sedona features leg levellers that make this frame look taller than it actually is, as well as stylish black metal legs and fabric underneath the seats to provide better airflow. This sectional is a unique frame and includes an armless bumper on the side for that European look.

The Sedona is only available as a sectional.

How Much Does it Cost?

The European Collection is a relatively affordable option as it falls within the mid-price range on the market and low to mid-price range at La-Z-Boy. 

In fact, the European Collection is our most economical choice for leather furniture at La-Z-Boy.

Warranty

Products from the European Collection are covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty. This warranty covers workmanship and manufacturing defects. Accidental damage will not be covered by the warranty.

At La-Z-Boy, custom furniture orders typically take 6 – 18 weeks.

Although you may not have the ability to make personalized customization, we strive to have most models and colours available in the European Collection in stock. With this, you can avoid the lengthy delivery process of custom orders and enjoy your furniture immediately. 

Moreover, Racha says that the European Collection is perfect for someone who is looking for furniture with an updated and modern look. Further, products from the European Collection are great for those looking for furniture with sleek silhouettes that take up minimal space. 

She adds that the versatility of the European Collection is enjoyed by people of varying heights. The tall back of the furniture is great for providing taller individuals with head support while the firm and the more shallow seat is appreciated by shorter clients. With this, several friends and family can find comfort in products from this collection. 

Although the European Collection meets our standard for premium comfort at La-Z-Boy, it doesn’t offer comfort in the same way that some of our more traditional La-Z-Boy models do. Racha says that clients who are looking for a deep bucket seat and plush cushioning may not find what they are looking for in the European Collection. 

Further, with sleek and thin armrests, some clients may not find the arm support they desire in the European Collection.
