Ready to Update The Living Room and Basement
Empty nesters Ray and Colleen were ready to update their living room and basement recreation room at their home in Rockland, Ontario. They decided to take advantage of La-Z-Boy’s complimentary design services and transform their living spaces.

First Meeting: Living Room and Basement Redesign
The clients enlisted Cliff Norman and Magaly del Castillo at our Cyrville location to help them with their living room and basement redesign. There was a lot to consider, but Magaly helped narrow down all the choices to align with the couple’s style preferences.
Ray and Colleen fell in love with the comfort and ease of care of the leather choices offered in the showroom. There were two separate spaces with different purposes and styles to consider.
The Furniture Chosen for the Living Room
The Allen sofa and loveseats were perfect for the new configuration of the living room. The large TV was better on the opposite wall as it would allow the couch to be the most significant piece seen as you come into the home.
The tables for the living room chosen are the Jefferson Collection, which included the entertainment console, cocktail table, and two rectangular end tables. We added the lamps, pillows and throws as the accent colours to the room.
The Primal area rug from Surya with its simple yet earthy colours of brick and gray on a cream background was the coup de grace.
The Furniture Chosen for the Basement Recreation Room
Both Colleen and Ray know that the typical basement inherits the upstairs furniture hand-me-downs, however, they wanted to add comfort for their family and friends when experiencing the recreational side of their home.
They decided on the Grayson set for its comfort and the power features were a must-have.
The loveseat and chair are interchangeable pieces to the mainstay central sofa, both separating the pool table area and exercise equipment, and creating a conversational space in front of both the TV and new stone fireplace.
A grey and teal Surya area rug anchoring and finishing with the Franklin tables set, finishing off with the table lamps, pillows and throw. All enhancing the stone flooring and wall colour.
