Are you looking for shared seating that is both classy and comfortable? The Edie Sectional may be exactly what you are looking for.
The Edie Sectional exudes style! Its crisp lines, firm shape, and decorative legs give the Edie a classic yet transitional look. In fact, Racha, a sales consultant at La-Z-Boy Hunt Club, says that the Edie is the most modern sectional from the duo® collection.
Depending on the cover you choose, the Edie is extremely versatile in that it can be coordinated well with a variety of current home decor trends.
But you might be wondering, is this the right sectional for you? Read on for a comprehensive review of the Edie Sectional to determine if it is for you!
The Edie duo® Sectional is known for its clean and casual design featuring padded outer arms, a padded back, decorative wood legs, and welt trim. 20-inch knife-edge accent pillows with welt trim further enhance the stylish appeal of the Edie.
Beyond the style, the Edie offers unexpected comfort with the power to recline at the touch of a button. Simply use the silver-toned-2-button outside mounted controllers to recline and raise the leg rests.
Speaking of comfort, the Edie is built with patented ComfortCore® cushions that provide just the right amount of support for a short or long sit. Racha says that the cushions on the Edie are medium firm; they aren’t too stiff but still provide proper support.
According to Racha, the Edie is considered one of the larger sectionals offered at La-Z-Boy. It requires a fair amount of space to fit in a room comfortably.
With more shallow seats and a short back, the dimensions of the Edie Sectional are best suited for someone between the heights of 5’3” to 5’9”.
While your height can be a considerable factor, it is important to note that height guidelines are NOT set in stone. The way you sit in a furniture item can drastically affect how someone might find a seat comfortable.
This is why we highly recommend coming in-store and taking a sit test to determine if the Edie is right for your unique body type. To learn more, take a look at our article How to Find the Right Sofa Size For You.

The Edie comes with a variety of options and upgrades to enhance your comfort and style:
When selecting the fabric or leather for your Edie, the cost will vary based on the grade you choose. Select fabrics will not affect the starting price of your furniture, but anything beyond that will.
This includes select leather and anything inside our leather selections at La-Z-Boy.

*Please note that this article's leather or fabric options may be discontinued or unavailable without prior notice. We recommend contacting your local Ottawa,Gatineau or Kingston La-Z-Boy store by phone or in person to confirm availability. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by any changes to our upholstery selection.
Alongside our extensive range of covers, the Edie is also available in specialty fabrics and leathers that offer unique features and benefits…
At an additional cost, Edie cushions can also be upgraded to include firmer cushioning, meaning over time, your furniture will remember your unique figure and enhance the comfort of your furniture. This could be a great option for people with mobility issues, allowing you to get in and out of your furniture more comfortably.
The Edie sectional comes with pillows, which means you can customize those as well. You can accessorize your pillows by adding an accent colour to them, as well as contrasting welt, cording or fringe.
If you want to get specific, you can also request feather padding for your pillows instead of the usual foam padding.
La-Z-Boy is all about customization, including customizing the legs of your Furniture. Edie’s legs can come in one of 3 finish options:
The cost of the Edie sectional is in the mid-high range of the sectionals now available on the market. The quality of materials used in construction and customization options are the main reasons for the higher price bracket.
The cheapest option is a three-piece sectional with a chaise lounge starting at $7,339. The five-pc six-seater is more expensive and can go upward depending on your fabric choices, including iClean fabric colours. From there, the cost increases depending on the different fabric or leather chosen, the number of seats and other options selected.

The Edie Sectional is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.
For full details of the Limited Lifetime Warranty, check out this full La-Z-Boy warranty breakdown.
While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushions, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.
To further protect your purchase, La-Z-Boy Ottawa, Gatineau & Kingston offers an extended warranty plan at an additional cost. To learn more about the Extended Warranty Plan and if it’s right for you, take a look at this article.

There’s is no question that the Edie Sectional is a beautiful piece of furniture. But is it right for you?
Given the size of the Edie and finished padded back, Racha says this sectional is perfect for clients who are looking to fill an open space.
When it comes to style, the ideal client for the Edie Sectional is someone going for a more modern look. “Someone who likes the look of stationary but wants a leg rest feature would love the Edie,” says Racha.
While the Edie is great for kicking up your legs and tilts slightly when leg rest is fully extended, it is not very conducive to leaning back. If you are looking for a plush sectional to place in the home theatre with seats to fully recline, the Edie may not be the right choice.
Instead, the Edie is ideal for a casual sitting room meant for reading or hosting gatherings.
Racha also suggests that the Edie might not be the right choice for someone who requires neck and head support. Given that the back of the Edie is short and does not have a headrest, it does not provide as much neck and head support as other models.
