What is iClean™?

iClean™ is a revolutionary upholstery treatment developed by La-Z-Boy, engineered to repel spills and resist stains. Using innovative chemistry, each fibre is surrounded by a moisture-repelling barrier, causing spills to bead up on the surface instead of soaking in.

But it’s not just practical—it’s comfortable too. “What makes iClean™ stand out is its balance of function and feel,” says Magaly. “It’s soft, luxurious, and durable—ideal for everyday life.”

iClean™ protects against common household spills, including:

Available iClean™ Covers: Colours/Patterns and Textures

With iClean™, you don’t have to choose between style and durability. The fabric collection features a wide array of colours and textures ranging from smooth weaves to plush chenille.

“Many of the fabrics have subtle patterns that add depth without being overwhelming,” Magaly notes.

For pet owners, several iClean™ fabrics are scratch-resistant and designed to handle daily wear from furry friends.

iClean™ Leather currently comes in seven colours within the Athena cover family, offering a refined look with built-in stain resistance. While the leather selection is more limited, it’s expected to grow with increasing demand. 

How to Clean La-Z-Boy iClean™ Furniture Covers?

Cleaning iClean™ furniture is as simple as spill, blot, and relax. The stain-resistant barrier does most of the work—here’s how to handle life’s little messes:

For Liquid Spills (Wine, Coffee, Juice):

1. Blot immediately with a soft, white cloth to soak up excess liquid.
2. Use a mild soap solution (1 teaspoon of liquid detergent like Tide mixed with 16 oz. of water) to clean the area.
3. Gently dab in a circular motion—avoid scrubbing.
4. Rinse with a damp cloth to remove any soap residue.
5. Allow to air dry.

For Non-Liquid Spills (Dort, Chocolate, Ketchup):

1. Gently remove debris from the surface.
2. Follow the same steps as above using the soap and water solution.
3. Use a soft-bristle brush for textured fabrics to restore the pile.

Magaly notes that it’s important to not remove the cushion covers for washing, as this may damage the protective coating. For tough stains, use a multi-purpose fabric cleaner like Woolite® Fabric & Upholstery Cleaner.

How Much Does iClean™ Cost?

While iClean™ is a premium upgrade, it offers long-term value by extending the life of your furniture.

Some La-Z-Boy frames come with select iClean™ covers at no additional cost. Always check with your local showroom for current pricing.

La-Z-Boy iClean™ Warranty

La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the frame, spring systems, and mechanisms. For iClean™ fabrics and leathers, there’s an extended 3-year warranty that covers.

To further protect your purchase, La-Z-Boy offers an extended warranty plan at an additional cost.

It is important to note that not all stains are covered under La-Z-Boy’s warranty. Here is a list of common stains and whether they fall under our warranty.

“The key to maintaining your iClean™ fabric is prompt cleaning,” Magaly advises. “The longer a spill sits, the harder it becomes to remove—even with stain-resistant technology.”
