Take the Vail Recliner, for example. The Vail has been around for many years now and has been enjoyed by many different users.

Unique Features

To begin, there are many unique features of the Vail Recliner. Not to be confused with its namesake city in Colorado, Vail is rich in beauty and luxury. 

Although it is petite in scale, it is still big on comfort. The Vail features a plush, biscuit-style back and padded rolled arms. 

Nancy says that the look of the Vail is “traditional looking, in the sense that it will make people go ‘oh this is a La-Z-Boy.’ It just has the typical La-Z-Boy look.”

Simply use the convenient handle on the outside arm to raise the legrest for reading, relaxing, or watching TV. Further, the Vail Recliner comes in two different functionalities: Rocking Recliner or Wall Recliner.

With the Rocker Recliner, you can rock in a smooth and graceful motion when not reclined. The Wall Recliner, on the other hand, can recline mere inches from a wall.

Sizes & Dimensions

When looking at the size of the Vail Recliner, you want to ensure that it fits comfortably in your space. The best way to do that is by Measuring Your Room before checking out the Vail.

As mentioned before, when discussing the size of the Vail, it has a petite scale, meaning it can potentially fit well in Small Spaces. “The Vail is mostly known for its smaller size,” says Nancy.

Also, because the Vail has a smaller scale, it can sit anyone comfortably with a height of around 5’4” - 5’9”, meaning this recliner is perfect for Short People.

While your height can be a considerable factor, it is important to note that height guidelines are NOT set in stone. The way you sit in a furniture item can drastically affect how someone might find a seat comfortable.

It is important to remember that by selecting any options and upgrades in this section, the cost of the Vail product is subject to increase.

Fabric & Leather Options

La-Z-Boy has over 800 fabrics and leathers to choose from, making the experience of personalizing your furniture seemingly endless.

The Vail recliner has 9 select fabric covers that are chosen to compliment its unique frame. Nancy says you can choose between luscious, burgundy, ivory, pewter, mocha, or indigo covers.

These select fabrics do not have an additional fee to the starting price. Should you choose to purchase any fabrics or leathers that are not included in Vail’s select fabric selection, you will be subjected to an additional fee. 

Leather options, even select leather, will always increase the overall cost. Ultimately, the choice of choosing fabric or leather is up to you if you’re willing to spend extra cash on leather products.

Optional Swivel Base

If you're interested, the Vail rocking recliner is available with a swivel base for an extra cost. La-Z-Boy's swivel bases provide a 360-degree rotation, allowing you to easily turn and face any direction.

Handle Options

To add more style to your La-Z-Boy manual recliner, you have the option to customize the length and material of the convenient reclining handle.

At an extra cost, you can opt to elongate the handle if you find it too short for your comfort. Additionally, you can choose from a variety of materials for the handle, including wooden, brushed nickel, or matte black. The chrome handle can also be elongated, matching the wooden one in size.

What’s more, for all left-handed users, you can change your handle from the standard right side to the left. This also comes at an additional cost.

Cost

Nancy says this recliner is “a more budget-friendly option compared to other recliners.”

While the cost of the Vail is quite standard at La-Z-Boy, it is important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered expensive on the market. This cost is reflected in the quality of materials and craftsmanship of our products. 

With this, the investment tends to be worthwhile if you are looking for long-lasting furniture.

The Vail is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.

Is the Vail Recliner Right For You?

Now that you know everything you need to know about the Vail Recliner, the question you might still be asking yourself is if this furniture product is right for you. 

To help answer this question, let’s take a look at the price, functionality, and style of the Vail one last time.

To begin, the aforementioned price of the Vail Recliner is a little less expensive than other recliners at La-Z-Boy. However, La-Z-Boy is considered more expensive than other furniture stores around. 

That said, if you’re looking to invest your money in longer-lasting furniture, the Vail might be right for you. In contrast, if you are looking for temporary furniture on a budget, you might not want to invest in the Vail Recliner.

In terms of functionality, consider your comfort preferences and space. If you’re a taller individual, you might not enjoy the petite scale that the Vail is notable for. The frame is recommended for those with a height of 5’4”-5’9”. Those who are either shorter or taller than this might not find comfort in the Vail.
