Before we jump into the details of this furniture family, let’s familiarize ourselves with each furniture frame option. As mentioned before, the Cleo is available as a chair, a chaise, a loveseat, and a sofa…

Cleo Stationary Chair

The Cleo stationary chair is available for anyone who needs a little me time, with individualized comfort. you can kick back by relaxing, reading a book or watching some TV.

Cleo 2-Arm Chaise Chair w/ Storage

Separating itself from other furniture families, the Cleo is also available as a 2-arm chaise with storage. 

Usually, at La-Z-Boy, our furniture families come with sectionals with an option to add a chaise on either side. However, with the Cleo, you can enjoy the individualized comfort of a chaise seat without having to purchase a sectional.

With a chaise, the seat cushion extends to the length of your legs so you can sit with your legs stretched out without needing to recline with a traditional recliner. What’s more, the Cleo chaise comes with storage underneath the seat.

Cleo Stationary Loveseat

The Cleo stationary loveseat is perfect for anyone looking to share a cozy seat with family, a friend, or someone special.

Finally, the Cleo stationary sofa brings family-friendly comfort together in a big way. Mary Lee tells us that the Cleo Sofa is one of the bigger sofa options at La-Z-Boy, aside from the sectionals.

Additionally, if you’re looking for a furniture item for leg rest or an extra seating option, you can also purchase the Cleo Ottoman. 

Unique Features

Now that we’re more familiar with the Cleo furniture frames let’s take a look at some of this furniture family’s unique features.

The Cleo includes clean and structured corners, with welt trim and decorative wood legs to bring a streamlined look. The corners of the back and the seat are offset by the gentle slope of the smoothly curved track arms, which Mary Lee says is reminiscent of one of our discontinued products, the Talbot.

“The difference between Talbot’s sloped arms and Cleo’s is that Talbot’s arms are closer to a 90-degree angle; the Cleo’s arms are more subtle,” she says.

What is also reminiscent of the Talbot is the option to add nailhead trims to the furniture. Mary Lee says this allows users to add “a little bling” to their furniture pieces if they want to.

Mary Lee also says that the Cleo has more of a transitional approach to its look. “the Cleo might be a newer product, but it takes inspiration from older furniture – mostly 1920’s design.”

This is especially true when looking at the Cleo 2-arm Chaise.

Sizes & Dimensions

When putting a new furniture item in any room, it is always important to Measure Your Space. 

Mary Lee mentions that the Cleo Sofa might not be the best choice if you're looking for furniture to fit in a small space. “Since the Cleo Sofa is 92” wide, it’s gonna take up a lot of room,” she explains.

Mary Lee also says that the Cleo furniture has a slightly above-average seat height, making it comfortable for those with a height of 5’10” - 6’2”. 

“Because the seat height is 22”, I can safely say that my legs will dangle off the floor since I sit comfortably on a sofa that’s 20” in seat height,” she says. Since Mary Lee is 5’2”, she needs to look for furniture that will complement her body type and not let her feet dangle off the ground.

While your height can be a considerable factor, it is important to note that height guidelines are NOT set in stone. The way you sit in a furniture item can drastically affect how someone might find a seat comfortable.

Options & Upgrades

When looking at Cleo’s options and upgrades, there are plenty to choose from. It is important to remember that all options and upgrades come at an additional cost, meaning the price of your Cleo furniture is subject to increase. 

Fabric Options

La-Z-Boy has over 800 fabrics to choose from, making the experience of personalizing your furniture seemingly endless.

Mary Lee reveals that the Cleo comes in 10 different select fabric options. These fabric options do not increase the base price of your Cleo.

Should you choose to purchase any fabrics that are not included as select covers, you will be subjected to an additional fee.

Pillow Options

The Cleo Chaise, Loveseat and Sofa come with pillows, which means you can customize those as well. You can accessorize your pillows by adding an accent colour to them, as well as contrasting welt, cording or fringe. Luckily for you, the Cleo furniture family also includes 7 additional select accent pillow options, meaning those will not affect your price.

If you want to get specific, you can also request feather padding for your pillows instead of the usual foam padding.

Contrasting Welt Trim

Customers have the option to choose a contrasting welt trim to accentuate the design of the furniture. Furthermore, patterned welt trim options are available, which can enhance the aesthetics of the furniture frame.

Optional Nailhead Trims

If you want to add extra accents to your furniture frame, nailhead trims are an excellent option. However, they come at an additional cost. Customers can choose from a variety of colours, including:

Leg Finish Options

Finally, Cleo’s wood leg finish can also be customized. Any Cleo furniture item comes in one of four finish options:

Cost

In terms of cost, Mary Lee notes that the Cleo furniture products fall within the mid-price range at La-Z-Boy. 

“Some might consider the sofa more expensive than other sofas at La-Z-Boy, but this is only because the width is longer than others,” she says.

While the cost of the Cleo furniture is considered quite standard at La-Z-Boy, it is important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered more expensive on the market. This cost is reflected in the high quality of materials and craftsmanship of our products. 

With this, the investment tends to be worthwhile if you are looking for long-lasting furniture.

Warranty

The Cleo is covered by La-Z-Boy’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty covers the repair or replacement of the frame, spring systems, and mechanism, given that they are quality-crafted and built for long-lasting comfort.

While still quality-crafted, other aspects of the product, such as fabrics, leather, and cushion, are not meant to last a lifetime. However, these parts are still covered by the La-Z-Boy Manufacturer’s Warranty for a given period of time.

Is the Cleo Furniture Family Right For You?

Now that you know everything you need to know about the Cleo Furniture Family, the question still remains if this furniture family is the right one for you. To help answer this question, we must take a look at your budget, functionality preferences, and overall style.

To begin, the aforementioned price of the Cleo furniture family is considered average compared to other furniture families. The only difference is the Cleo Sofa, since it has more width to it, thus needing more materials to be made.

Should you be looking for furniture that will last a long time, purchasing, this furniture family might be worth the investment. In contrast, if you are looking for a more temporary furniture purchase on a budget, the Cleo furniture may not be the right choice for you.

In terms of functionality, Mary Lee says that this furniture family can potentially seat those with an average or taller height comfortably. If you’re around Mary Lee’s height, which was mentioned to be 5’2”, you might not find the Cleo very comfortable. 

Lastly, when referring to personal style, Mary Lee says that the Cleo might appeal to “a young urban professional.” This includes anyone who appreciates transitional or modern furniture or someone with “a high chic fashion sense, especially if you want that nailhead trim,” according to Mary Lee.
