Unique Features

Firstly, let’s take a look at the unique features brought by the Dante Chair.

Sleek in design and not afraid to stand out, the Dante offers a fresh, casual and updated take on the classic wing-back chair.

Normally, wing-back designs are more traditional by nature, due to many older chairs having that feature. However, with the Dante, the back features a clean look with modern edges that keep it on trend with other furniture items from this era.

The Dante also features tapered wood legs, cleanliness track arms, and a box-border seat that offsets the plush, cozy back. And, best of all, its small size makes decorating easy!

The Dante is available as both a High-Leg Recliner or as a Swivel Gliding Chair. The High-Leg Recliner looks like a stationary chair, but when you push back on the arms, you reveal the legrest hidden underneath, making it a perfect double feature.

With the swivel glider, the Dante can glide back and forth in a smooth transition.

Sizes & Dimensions

Taking a look at the sizing of the Dante, there are certain things to consider before purchasing this type of reclining chair.

The size of this recliner has the illusion of it looking bigger than it is, especially when looking at its swivel gliding variant. However, this chair is considered small in size, making it perfect for anyone looking for a recliner sofa in a small space.

It's worth noting that motion furniture, no matter how small, will always take up more room than stationary furniture. This is because these chairs move quite a bit, either by gliding back and forth or by extending the legrest when reclining.

In addition to its stylish design, the Dante is a versatile chair that can accommodate a range of body sizes. Its normal height scale ensures comfortable seating for individuals between 5'4" to 6’0” in height. The taller height is due to the tall back this chair has.

While your height can be a considerable factor, it is important to note that height guidelines are NOT set in stone. The way you sit in a furniture item can drastically affect how someone might find a seat comfortable.

Ultimately, we always recommend coming in for a sit test to see if the Dante is comfortable for your body type. To learn more, take a look at How to Find a Recliner That is The Best Fit For You.

Power Upgrade with Adjustable Headrest

You can upgrade the Dante High-Leg Recliner to power.

Instead of pushing back on the arms of the chair, the power recliner has a wireless remote on the right side. With this, you can recline at the touch of a button, as well as control the adjustable headrest support.

The adjustable headrest allows you to move the head of the recliner from 0-55 degrees, giving you more range of motion with your reclining positions.

What’s more, the recliners have USB ports next to the control panels to charge your electronic devices, as well as two memory settings that allow you to save any of your favourite relaxing positions. This way, you can easily recline back to the position you favour quickly and accurately.

All power upgrades can be cordless, thanks to our rechargeable battery pack. With this, you can place your power recliners anywhere without worrying about plugging them into an electrical outlet.

Is the Dante Chair Right For You?

Now that you’re aware of what the Dante has to offer, is this the right reclining chair for you? To help you out with your decision, let’s take a look at your budget, the functionality and the style of the furniture frame.

Firstly, the Dante falls within the affordable price range for recliners at La-Z-Boy. It isn’t considered expensive because the reclining mechanism is not as intricate as traditional recliners.

However, it is important to note that La-Z-Boy furniture is considered expensive compared to other furniture stores in Ottawa and Kingston.

Although this is the case, La-Z-Boy furniture is made to last longer than other furniture pieces, due to the higher quality materials used within the construction of the piece. This means you’ll be potentially saving money later down the road, with less risk of damages happening over a shorter period.

Secondly, the Dante is a multifunctional piece of furniture. Given that it is a push-back recliner, you have the choice to use it however you see fit.

If you’re someone with mobility issues, Dante’s manual setting may not be right for you. Instead, the power upgrade might be a better option. This recliner is also a great alternative for someone who is looking for space-saving furniture.

However, you should still ensure that this product fits in your space by measuring your room and comparing the space to the Dante.

Lastly, the Dante is contemporary in style, being able to accommodate a broader range of households rather than keeping itself in one box.

If you’re interested in another type of style, we recommend that you read our article on Traditional vs Contemporary Furniture, to see which furniture style is right for you.
